Together, the Hannover and Berlin-based artists Thomas Granseuer and Tomislav Topic constitute Quintessenz. Starting out as students the University of applied Science and Arts in Hildesheim, they have been active as the artist duo Quintessenz for more then 10 years and together they developed a unique an unmistakeable signature style. With roots in both grafitti-culture, chromatics and graphics Quintessenz combine painting, installation and conceptual art.
They both have worked as lecturer at the university as well as in the field of agency-work. Together they find ever new creative approach to conceptual art and exhibition design. Quintessenz is well known for their colorful site-specific art installations in which they reduce their work to the very quintessence of art itself: Color and Form.
Their abstract and fundamental approach to color and form lets them create universal installations that enable the spectators to truly experience art. The self-assuring power of beauty invites us all to appreciate life in all its facets.
Their art is universal in their nature and has a strong impact on the spectators senses. Their installations play with the spectator: it invites the spectators to walk around and experience their artworks from different angles.
During the last 10 years, Quintessenz has been able to attend several artist residencies in Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Greece, Mauritius, Qatar, USA and China.
Their art and installations have been featured in exhibitions all over the world and their trade mark style and their fundamental and universal approach to art has been able to gain international recognition.
